✂️ How to Print Your Belladonna Digital Patterns

So you've downloaded a Belladonna sewing pattern—now what? Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered! Whether you're a seasoned home sewist or brand new to PDF patterns, here’s everything you need to know to get your pattern printed and ready to sew.

🖨 What You’ll Need

  • A printer (home or copy shop)

  • A4 or US Letter paper (check your pattern file for the correct size)

  • Scissors or a rotary cutter

  • Tape or glue stick

  • Your downloaded pattern file, opened with Adobe Acrobat or another PDF reader

🧭 Step-by-Step: Printing at Home

1. Open the File
Open the pattern file in Adobe Acrobat Reader (it’s free and reliable). Avoid printing directly from your web browser—it can distort the scale.

2. Check Page Size
Make sure you’re using the correct file for your region:

  • Use A4 if you're outside North America.

  • Use US Letter if you're in the United States or Canada.

3. Print the Test Page First
Every Belladonna pattern includes a test square on page 1 of the PDF. Print only this page first to check that the scale is accurate—the square should measure exactly 4 inches or 10.16 cm.

4. Set Printer Settings

  • Scale: 100% or “Actual Size”

  • Orientation: Auto or Portrait

  • Borderless printing is not necessary

5. Print the Pattern Pages
Once the test square checks out, print the rest of the pages.

🧩 Assemble Your Pattern

Each page has a border and alignment marks to help you line things up. Match the notches and glue or tape the pages together into one big pattern sheet. We recommend packing tape, because it’s easy to work with, has a strong hold, and is see-through. Trim page edges if necessary, or just overlap where indicated.

Pro tip: Work from left to right, top to bottom. It’s basically a big sewing jigsaw!
